The Jayhawk
Theatre Organ Funds The pipe organ will be named in honor of the Rev. Richard and Mary Louise Taylor. It was Richard Taylor who saved the theatre from the wrecking ball in 1993. The three organ funds are: Organ Maintenance Fund This fund will be used to maintain the pipe organ. Pipe organs need constant care, and donating to this fund would guarantee the organ always gets the care it needs. Pipe Organ Performance Fund It is essential that the community have opportunities to hear the pipe organ and be exposed to music and performances involving the organ. This fund was established so the theatre can hire organists and musicians to provide concerts and performances to the public, at minimal or no cost to the community. Organ Education Fund One mission of The Jayhawk Theatre is not simply to exist, but to enrich. This fund was established so music and organ teachers can be hired to teach children, at minimal or no cost, how to play the organ and about the history of pipe organs.
